I think I have some of the blue plastic sheeting that goes underneath if you need more.

Yes, exactly. You’ll only see the Comment button if you’re logged in. I’m glad it’s working for you.

    Yea!!

    • And, Scott: With your “updating of some of the software” you may have finally fixed another vexing problem with the website. As I commented to you quite a few months ago, roughly only around 10% of the posts (then and through until earlier today – June 6) were coming into our inbox (even though we’ve continuously had everything perfectly set u…[Read more]

I’m commenting on my own post just so you don’t think I’m hallucinating when I say I see the Comment button.

I just updated some of the software for this site. Let me know if y’all are seeing the Comment button now. This is hard for me to debug since I see the Comment button just fine when I’m logged in. But I’ll keep trying.

    • I’m commenting on my own post just so you don’t think I’m hallucinating when I say I see the Comment button.

    • Hi, Scott: Yes, I’m now seeing the “Comment” button once again after logging in. Thanks for the fix! Richard

    • good news – you not hallucinating, Scott.

    • I have the comment tab on this computer that is ruining Windows 7. Carol’s desktop and my lap top both run Windows 10 and the comment tab does not appear on them Jim K

      • Hi, James: Is this AFTER you have logged in? (You won’t see it unless you do so.) In the current setup, you should see a “Comment” button under new posts, and a“Reply” button under previous comments of the new posts. Does this help? Richard

      • I’m on Windows 10. I see the Comment Button at the top of this thread and ‘reply’ links after each comment. I tried it in Chrome, MS Edge, and Firefox. All worked for me, but only if I am signed in.

        • Yes, exactly. You’ll only see the Comment button if you’re logged in. I’m glad it’s working for you.

    • Thanks Scott, I see it now too!

They sell eggs up at Trout Lake Abbey / Mount Adams Zen Buddhist Temple. https://mtadamszen.org/ It’s a bit far, but you can always combine this with a meditation. : ) https://mtadamszen.org/schedule/ They also sell lavender, jams, and a few other things.

That’d be my guess too. They came to play with my dogs a while back (1099 Snowden) and Yeager rings a bell.

  • I just found the following Facebook message, “Kim M Larsen January 1 at 9:53am. Anybody I know on Snowden Rd who may be missing their golden retriever or know ego this beautiful pooch my belong to? Becky, Scott” Hopefully this is old news and the dog is safely back home.

    • Not sure if this was Cody. He has been staying home or visiting w/Family downtown. Thanks for posting here. We want to thank the Sears Family for helping Cody out a while back. He”d been torn up pretty good by other dogs.

David, I just tried calling a few times and didn’t get voicemail to leave a message. If you bump into him, please ask him to give me a holler at 493-2296 so I can show him the ropes for pet sitting here. I need pet sitters quite often. And help with lots of other stuff too.

    Shannon,
Mark has been trying to get in touch with you. He’s coming from Vancouver, so it really helps for him to be able to consolidate his tunings in this area. If you’re still interested, please let him know.
    Thanks!
    Scott

  • I just had Miguel Garcia take a tree down for me. He and his brother were quick and very professional. I’d recommend them for any of their services.

  • Anyone need their piano tuned? I’m scheduling a master piano tuner to come to my house. He’s very talented and very reasonably priced. Since he’s coming up all this way, it’d be great if he could tune some other pianos in the area. We all are a bit out of the way, and he’s coming from Vancouver. So if you’ve got a piano you’ve neglected, I’d…[Read more]

Verizon has a pretty good reputation. My connection starts cutting out just past Cherry Ln Fire Station, which is pretty much right about where you are. But, good news, you can get cell coverage through wifi. It’s called Wi-Fi Calling. It’s amazing. It’s just like having a strong cell signal. Getting this has been a live changing event. I…[Read more]

By the way, I’m 10.99 miles up the road, and a neighbor who’s a bit further up Snowden is happy with CenturyLink.

    • I’ve had both. CenturyLink is faster and more reliable. Bad weather used to affect the Internet dish. There’s a section of Century Link (I’m on it on Bates) that is still copper wire and has a number of infrastructure issues. The DSL there sucks, but it’s still better than satellite. From what I understand, the connections are much faster and mor…[Read more]

    • I apologize for not posting something sooner as this has been on my to do list for awhile, but thanks to a bunch of previous legwork our good neighbor Kyle did, I was able to reach a regional Director for CL in Vancouver and improve our DSL connection quite a bit. Much of it is based on where you are, as others have mentioned. We moved to Bates…[Read more]

      • Also – to be clear, we still have dial tone on our phone line during the two power outages we’ve experienced today, but DSL dies. I think this implies the CL equipment up here is not on back up generators. Hence, my comments about the need for a secondary connection.

  • HOW RELIABLE IS CENTURYLINK? I’m considering switching from Hughes.net to CenturyLink for my Internet connection. I must say, Hughes.net (Gen 4) has been extremely reliable and the speed is fine. But not having a quota would be wonderful. What worries me is that I’ve heard lots of horror stories about how unreliable DSL is even in town. So I…[Read more]

    • I live on Bates Road just past Tunnel Road and just tried to order new CenturyLink internet service. Their customer service was terrible in trying to schedule a technician and once I had it scheduled, they didn’t even show up or send an email . After spending a great deal of time on the phone trying to sort out what happened, I received an email…[Read more]

    • We have been on Exceed for many years. Metered for sure but we have never overrun the limit. Any problem we have ever had with weather was cleared when I swept the snow off the dish. ; ) The comments regarding Century Link correspond with my experience. I called customer service to inquire if there was a different rate from the over $75…[Read more]
