I did try to reach him awhile back and got no return call, not sure what’s going on there. If you do get him, I’m sure he’ll be very reliable. Good luck!

Jenn, I second that. Miguel and Brothers Garcia are good to work with, hard workers, and have good experience.

Thank you, Roy. I haven’t seen him since — it was just the male, I think, judging by size. I’ll let you know if he comes back.

    Thanks Dawn.

Thanks, Scott, that was indeed the direction the dog came from, but headed out toward Snowden. I used to see a pair, but haven’t for a couple of years at least now.

Have you talked to Ray Sowa? Ray@gorgedesignbuild.com. He’s terrific and lives off Snowden.

  • Very large Great Pyrenees or similar running loose at 1381 Snowden Road just now. Please keep your dog at home!

    • Two Great Pyrenees dogs paid me a visit and it turned out they came from someone down Staats Road. I don’t remember the name; it was some years ago. 1-1/5 miles into Staats if I remember correctly.

      • Scott, is the name Jaeger? A few years ago I returned a Great Pyrenees to them, and they had a number of others there. I don’t know the address or phone number but it’s near the end of the populated portion of Staats, with a “Jaeger’s Farm” sign at the entrance.

    • Those probably belong to Chris and Donna Yeager — last house on Staats Road. They used to roam quite a bit, but we hadn’t seen them for a while. If you see them again you can pm me and I’ll call either Chris or Donna to let them know. I’ll call them tomorrow so they’ll know their dogs have been out and about.

      • Thank you, Roy. I haven’t seen him since — it was just the male, I think, judging by size. I’ll let you know if he comes back.

  • A family on Sleepy Hollow off Snowden was looking for their lost white terrier Daisy as of this afternoon. Daisy isn’t wearing a collar, is sweet but scared of loud noises and went missing Sunday morning. If you see Daisy, please call them at -1222 or 541 8O6-49OO or 541-49O-389O.

  • Brothers Garcia (Miguel Garcia) 509-261-0646 is excellent. If you need serious climbing or other professional arboritst work, David Braun (Braun Arboricultural Consulting) is great. (541) 806-0347.

Thank you, Richard. That’s helpful information.

Thanks, Molly, I appreciate the response. I have hesitated to pull over because of the riot it would cause with my own dogs in the car. If it continues, I might see if they can lead me home — I am used to folks letting their dogs run, but most of those who do (or who live to tell the tale) are pretty good about staying on the shoulder.

  • I don’t want to run over your dog!!! Three times this week I have seen a pair of dogs, usually around the 300 block of Snowden: a medium white/black/tan and a very small black and white dog. Today little black-and-white was by herself coming up from Locke Hill. Each time these lovely pups have been in the middle of the road, requiring quick…[Read more]

    • Barbara,
I know right where your talking about. The dogs are not strays. I have pulled over and tried to catch the dogs myself and they always run back to the same driveway. We have had a few close calls as well!

Sue, glad you weighed in. Welcome, Jennifer! Some of the questions I would ask before I could offer much is, in addition to elevation, whether the crop area has been farmed or is semi-virgin weed-graze like much of my place. It might be that the best thing you could do is get a soil test (four free per landowner via the Underwood Conservation…[Read more]

I’m very happy with Matt Dumolt. You can schedule by calling his wife Jackie at 509-773-0411.

  • I’ll be getting 3 tons of hay delivered from Horseshoe Bend Ranch in Centerville — a full load is 4 tons. If someone wants 1 ton delivered, we can split the delivery, roughly $50 (based on mileage). I got smoothbrome, but he has some with barley and/or triticale and alfalfa, I believe. They are in small (40 lb) bales.…[Read more]

  • Our own Alan Bennett (B&B Home Inspections) does radon testing. He found radon when we moved here, and we were able to get the sellers to remediate.

Try Matt Dumolt. He stays busy, but will be up on Snowden to see my ponies on November 20th or thereabouts. His wife Jackie can help you. 509/773-0411.

  • Saw a wooly ewe (blackface?) crossing Snowden just into the woods above (east of) 654 Snowden. This afternoon around 12:20 pm.

  • I wanted to let you all know I will be hosting a memorial for my beloved Gary (Pinard) on Saturday 6/21 at 2pm at our place (1381 Snowden). Gary died of sarcoma, which recurred just shortly after we moved here last year. Casual, all welcome. Please let me know if you plan to…[Read more]
